Today’s Woman Now.
Now that the weather is getting colder, it can sometimes be hard to stay looking chic while also staying warm. But in an effort to keep both style and warmth going strong this season, one of the best go-to pieces for a wardrobe is a slouchy, cozy sweater. Perfectly paired with a fitted bottom, and the right shoes, you’ll have nailed the look and you’ll be warm all season long. Here’s how to pull the look off the right way.
First, a slouchy sweater can look frumpy if not worn correctly. Working gal? Pair a cozy sweater with a pencil or other fitted, crisp skirt.
Try to mix it up. Add in some patterns or pops of color. A slouchy neutral sweater with a classic black skirt? Add chic leopard pumps or boldly colored accessories. Think wines, plums, forest green and even pastels- yes, pastel pink is everywhere this fall.
Roll ‘em up! If you’re looking a little too blousy or baggy, roll up your sleeves or tuck the sweater in. Rule of thumb for almost everything: balance; a loose top with a fitted bottom or vice versa. Don’t over-do it.
Not on the job? A great weekend look is to pair a slouchy sweater with fitted jeans. Leather is big this season as well- try leather leggings and a trendy pair of booties to create a more casual look.
Want to trim it up some? Add a belt. Leather looks great with soft knits. Try an over-sized ‘grandpa’ sweater with a belt. Pair it over a fitted dress with pumps or a tee and skinny jeans.
True test of style…wearing a dress I wore seven years ago when I was 15. Still fits and still as stylish! Pink and chambray :) happy Tuesday lovelies!

You wouldn’t know it by the temperatures but summer is close to ending soon- I think it best to ensure I get all the use of my most summery clothes while I still can!
Sometimes Mondays just call for happy outfits.
This past week the CMT Awards aired and half of the show is all about the fashion as we all know. Well this year, no surprise, all that glitters must have been the theme of the night! While many stars looked good- and some not so great- here are a few that I think totally got it right.
First, let’s start by noticing that Kacey Musgraves is giving Carrie Underwood’s legs a run for their money. Holy smokes girl, look out! Anyways, here’s why she got it right. When it comes to short mini dresses like that, especially with so much sparkle it’s best to leave a little to the imagination. Hence, the sleeves. I love that the dress is still super sexy but not showing too much- Drawing attention to her amazing legs. Which brings me to my next point. Nude strappy shoes were perfect. Elongates her legs and doesn’t over do or compete with the dress. Nicely done gal!
Next up, AnnaSophia Robb looked equally as darling in a sparkly mini dress. I love the cut of the neck which really shows off her arms and the detail on the hem on the dress adds such a nice touch. Again, simple but pretty shoes don’t distract from her dress. Her hair is up and back which also allows the dress to speak for itself. Very pretty!
Kellie Pickler….. All I have to say is, wow! We should all be on Dancing With The Stars if her body is looking that good. Fun and sexy all the way in this dress. Her arms deserve a buckle of their own! Ow ow.
Last but not least, Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town. I love this black and nude dress on her. Her style has definitely evolved over the years. This dress is fun and sophisticated but is also really pretty. The shoes pair perfectly with this too. It’s a tad longer and her shoes are not too high but simple and elegant matching the tone of the dress. Her hair is down with soft textured waves which gives the look a more relaxed feel. She nailed it! Jealous :)
It’s a white hot summer this year! The clean and simple white nail polish trend is a total hit this season. Bold yet simple nails will be sure to make a statement with any summer look you try- sundress, shorts or bikini! The best part, it matches anything and we all love coordinating nails and outfits- don’t try to deny it girls! Celebs like Lea Michelle, Emmy Rossum, the Queen B (Beyonce) and Kim Kardashian have been spotted sporting this trend lately. A few brands that seem to be top picks- try Nars, Sephora by OPI, Essie and Zoya.
